CONFLICT OF INTEREST CHECK (3 Questions)

Because we deal with personal information and provide legal advice arising from that information, our Rules of Professional Conduct prevents us from working with two opposing parties on the same matter - referred to as a "conflict of interest". That's bad for business, but good for you: it ensures we can have entirely open and candid discussions about your hardest questions, with the knowledge that the relationship is (almost) 100% confidential. Yes, there are always limited exceptions.

So this set of questions check to see if there may be conflict of interest, right from the start. If there is any issue, we'll of course let you know before the consultation.

PHOTO-ID

We deal with extremely sensitive information, entirely remotely. That means we need to ensure you are who you say you are. We want to talk TO you, not ABOUT you. Can we be too careful? Not on this issue.

Preferably, we need a 'selfie' of you, holding your photo-ID so your head and photo are in the same shot. You can use a health card, driver's license, Ontario Photo Card or any passport. See this example:
